And that’s what love is: compromising for a loved one (Dad) and forgiving them despite their shortcomings (Marlene).
Wait…if Marlene’s dad doesn’t like physical contact, then how did he act when he was married? “I love you too, honey, Oh ooop, no kisses, Just a nice quick handshake. There we go.”
It really seems like he wasn’t such a recluse until after his wife died, so, kind of guessing that wasn’t such a problem.
