Whenever I write lines like Lewis's in the third panel, I try to base them on real anecdotes people have told me, and this is no exception. But I still worry a little about how they read. As a character, Lewis is more to me than just The Guy From Kentucky, but that's still a part of him. The trick is incorporating that without forcing it, or letting it overshadow the other aspects of his character. Hopefully I've achieved that.
