If you sold out like most webcomics and attempted to profit via t-shirts, etc, I believe an exact reproduction of this shirt would sell unusually well. At least 8 sales would go to me, that I might have one for every day of the week and an extra to wear while washing the others.
Umm, hate to say it Matt, but webcomic artists trying to profit from merchandising isn’t selling out, it’s just a viable means of making a profit. Selling out only encompasses excessive advertising and (perhaps) sponsorship.
I believe my phrasing got away from me there. I was only referring to the comic artists who let their comic become more about “can I make this week’s comic into a ‘hilarious’ t-shirt to pressure users into buying?” than about the enjoyment of producing the comic (sadly what Daisy Owl turned into up until he put the comic on hold and realized he’d lost his passion for it because of the marketing). As an artist myself, I of course fully recognize the need to make money off of one’s art form, and there are plenty of webcomics that do it right. I’ve just always been impressed in a way that Bobwhite doesn’t bother, for one reason or another.
Ugh you guys are being so gross about this money thing. Magnolia probably wants to make money doing her art– you know, like every other artist in the world. Nothin’ wrong with that.
Charlene’s hair is awesome… I’d nix the glasses if I were her though.
I do this comic for free, but if you like it and have a little extra to throw my way, I'd very much appreciate it.

And now I want that shirt.
JEEZ THANKS A LOT
Ben is the Anti-Hipster. No irony here! Ben just straight-up digs giraffes!
(This comic made me so, so happy.)
Ten bucks says she goes back to the dorm and changes immediately. XD
Ben reminds me of my old roommate. It’s impossible to hang with someone so openly enthusiastic about everything and not be charmed.

Oh OK. Never mind then. Thanks for clearing that up!
@Matt
Magnolia is an artist, she doesn’t want our money. 😉
And… that’s why the donate button appeared a couple weeks ago!
I assure you, everyone, she would very much like to have your money!
Hipsters are such pricks.
